Shelter retrofits SN.

If you don't have a shelter in your house, you can prepare a room in your basement as a shelter. Shelters should be built as self-contained rooms that can be sealed gas-tight. The room should be suitable for longer stays. The shelter should be in a corner of the building and should not have any openings to the outside. It should not be larger than 30m2. Cellar windows should be bricked up to the full thickness of the wall and shafts should be filled in. In terraced houses, plan a wall gap of around 60 x 80 cm to the neighboring house (escape route).

Existing, properly executed brickwork can be left in place. Existing firmly adhering interior plaster can be left on the walls. The ceilings above the shelters, as well as the ceilings above them, must be at least 15cm thick, including the screed. However, it must be ensured that in the event of a fire, the fire load in the rooms above the shelters is low and that in the event of possible radiation, the windows and doors in the adjacent rooms are closed.

Air conditioning systems in shelters are required to separate pollutants and enable longer stays. In the case of contaminated outside air, this is ensured by an NBC filter system / protective ventilation. We offer our gas filter systems for this purpose.
